ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The famous video sharing application TikTok has deleted around 25 million videos shared by Pakistanis in the first quarter of 2025, according to a report by the company.
Millions of videos are shared on TikTok daily, the content of which is reviewed under the principles of the Community Guidelines.
TikTok has released the report for the first quarter of 2025 on the implementation of the Community Guidelines.
According to the report, TikTok has deleted over 210.19 million videos on the breach of community guidelines, which makes the 0.9 percent of total videos uploaded on the platform
Of the deleted videos, more than 184.3 million were identified and deleted by automated systems, of which more than 7.5 million were restored after further review.
The company stated that 99 percent of videos were deleted before they were posted, while the other 94.3 percent of videos were removed within 24 hours of their posting.
In Pakistan, over 25 million videos were removed in the same period of time.
About 30 percent of videos contained sensitive or adult content, which violated TikTok’s polices.
11.5% of the videos violated the platform’s safety and decency standards, while 15.6% were based on violations of privacy and security guidelines.
Of the deleted videos, 45.5% were marked as misinformation and 13.8% were identified as edited media and artificial intelligence-generated content.
