Tensions erupt in Muzaffarabad as Peace rally, JAAC come face to face

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The situation in Muzaffarabad has escalated as the participants of the Muslim Conference workers and the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) have come face-to-face.

According to the details, the peace rally and the Awami Action Committee came face to face in Muzaffarabad, after which the tensions between the two groups escalated.

According to the police, miscreants tried to tense the situation, after which a clash broke out between the two groups, and eleven people got injured.

The participants of both sides threw stones at the police buses, breaking the windows of the police buses. Additionally, several bullets have been recovered from the scene.

The locals have stated that unrest in the name of protest will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Earlier, a peaceful march was taken out by the Muslim Conference on the streets of Muzaffarabad. The workers participated in the march in large numbers and expressed their presence peacefully.

The attendees said that peace and stability are essential for the development of the region and will continue to highlight the voice of the people positively.

Traffic flow in the city continued to be as usual during the march, whereas the march ended in a peaceful atmosphere.
