SRINAGAR (Kashmir English): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has said that the continued silence of the international community and the United Nations on the worsening situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) has emboldened India to persist with its state terrorism and atrocities against the oppressed Kashmiri people.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said the United Nations is duty-bound to implement its roadmap on the Kashmir dispute and ensure its peaceful resolution in line with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

He stated that India is targeting Kashmiris for resisting its illegal occupation, while cordon-and-search operations, house raids, arbitrary arrests, and harassment of innocent civilians have become routine in the occupied territory.

Despite unleashing such brutal repression, Minhas said India has failed to extinguish the Kashmiris’ struggle for freedom. The statement highlighted that the Kashmiri people have continued to keep the flame of freedom alive, offering the ultimate sacrifice of their lives.

The spokesman urged the international community to recognize the suffering of Kashmiris under Indian occupation and to compel India to respect the people’s aspirations by granting them their inalienable right to self-determination without further delay.
