PM Shehbaz arrives in Qatar on two-day visit

DOHA (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday arrived in Doha, capital of Qatar, on a two-day official visit at the invitation of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The Prime Minister and his delegation were received at the King Hamad International Airport in Doha by Qatar’s Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khalifa, Pakistani Ambassador to Qatar, Muhammad Amir, and diplomatic staff.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information, Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Tariq Fatemi, are also accompanying the Prime Minister.

During his visit to Qatar, the premier will hold bilateral meetings with the Emir of Qatar, covering the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, including political engagement, economic collaboration, energy partnership, and people-to-people exchanges, the statement from the FO said.

“The two sides will also discuss ways to further advance cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, energy, infrastructure development, and manpower export.”

The Prime Minister’s visit reflects the deep brotherly ties between the two countries and highlights their shared commitment to further strengthening multilateral cooperation, it stated.

The Foreign Office added that both countries share a longstanding partnership characterized by mutual trust and close coordination at regional and international forums.

“The visit will also provide an opportunity for both leaders to exchange views on regional and global developments of mutual interest, reaffirming their resolve to work closely for peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.”
