KABUL: Several people were reportedly killed in a blast in the Shahr-e-Naw area of Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, the Taliban interior ministry said on Monday.
Khalid Zadran, spokesperson for the Kabul Police, has also confirmed that an explosion occurred today in the Gul-Frooshi street area of Shahr-e-Naw, resulting in casualties, TOLOnews reported.
Zadran added that investigative teams have begun their examinations to determine the nature of the explosion, and details of the incident will be shared later.
“According to preliminary reports, a number of people were killed and injured,” Interior Ministry spokesperson Abdul Mateen Qani told Reuters, adding that details would be released later.
The Shahr-e-Naw area is home to foreigners and is considered one of the most secure areas in Kabul.
