NORTH WAZIRISTAN (Kashmir English): Pakistani security forces successfully repelled a Khawarij attack on an Army post in North Waziristan, killing at least one militant, officials confirmed.
The foiled Khawarij attack in North Waziristan was carried out on the post late Saturday evening, according to officials.
The Khawarij opened fire on the post using small arms and under-barrel grenade launchers from multiple directions.
The attackers were believed to be operating from locations 200–400 meters away.
The troops present at the post responded swiftly and engaged the target with sniper shots.
Aerial reconnaissance and quick-reaction forces were activated to locate and neutralize the assailants.
“Fire from the hostile positions was effectively silenced,” a security official told reporters, adding that surveillance drones and mortar teams provided real-time targeting support.
“At least one Khawarij was confirmed killed and another injured when they attempted to approach the outer perimeter of the Army post from the direction of Sarai Mosque”, as per the officials.
“Further aerial and mortar strikes on fleeing groups are believed to have hit one additional Khawarij, with three to four others wounded, according to early intelligence assessments.”
No losses were reported among security personnel. Nearby units were placed on high alert as a precaution.
Continuous aerial and ground surveillance remains in place to ensure that no hostile elements re-emerge in the vicinity.
Earlier, Security forces killed three terrorists belonging to Indian proxy Fitna-al Khwarij in two separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on November 2, 2025, the military’s media wing said in a statement.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release, the security forces picked up the movement of a group of khwarij, opposite general area Esham, North Waziristan District, who were trying to infiltrate through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
“Own troops effectively engaged this group of khwarij,” the ISPR said, adding that as a result of precise and skillful engagement, two khwarij were sent to hell.
It added that one of the killed khwarij, identified as Kharji Qasim, was an Afghan national and was actively serving in the Afghan Border Police.
Furthermore, in another intelligence-based operation conducted in Tank District, own troops successfully neutralised another Kharji belonging to an Indian proxy, Fitna al Khwarij.
The terrorist identified as Kharji Ikramuddin, aka Abu Dajana, was also an Afghan national.
