PALLANDRI (Kashmir English): Deputy Commissioner Sudhanoti Umar Farooq has imposed section 144 across the district for two months, banning the entry of professional beggars and peddlers.

As per details, strict instructions were issued to the police stations of all four tehsils of Sudhanoti district to take strict legal action against professional beggars and peddlers. The district official has ordered the police stations to immediately arrest and expel them from the district.

During the holy month of Ramadan, professional beggars from different parts of Pakistan not only beg in Pallandri, but some people also commit various crimes under the guise of begging. Often, women are also involved in immoral and obscene activities under the guise of begging.

The deputy commissioner said that these professional beggars settle in Palandri with entire families and collect money from local people and visitors for the sake of Allah and by making up various stories.

Deputy Commissioner has issued instructions to take strict action against them in the city and villages on a daily basis. The public has appreciated this move of Deputy Commissioner Sudhanuti and welcomed it.
