Secretary Health AJK visits KORT Education Complex in Mirpur

MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Secretary Health Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Muhammad Fareed Wednesday visited South Asia’s largest Orphans Rehabilitation Center, KORT Educational Complex in Mirpur, to review its facilities and meet the resident orphan students.

Brig. Fareed applauded KORT’s comprehensive care and educational programs.

He was accompanied by Dr. Fida Hussain, District Health Officer Mirpur during visit of the Complex where senior Member governing body KORT Muhammad Shakeel and other officials apprised the AJK Healthy Secretary of the latest facilities being offered to over 500 inmates of the grand complex.

DHO Dr. Fida Hussain praised the campus’ health and welfare initiatives.

Both officials committed to a formal partnership and future initiatives on behalf of the State Health Department of AJK.

KORT headquarters in Mirpur

Few days back, Wajiha Qamar, Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training, visited KORT headquarters in Mirpur, where board members briefed her on the organization’s humanitarian initiatives.

During the visit, the Minister toured KORT’s purpose-built orphanage, which provides shelter, education, and healthcare to hundreds of orphan children.

She also lauded KORT’s comprehensive approach to child welfare, including its focus on education, food security, and empowerment programs for widows and individuals with disabilities.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that KORT’s dedication to uplifting vulnerable communities is truly commendable as she acknowledged its education and social support initiatives.

The organization viewed the visit as an endorsement to their mission to provide hope and opportunity to marginalized populations in Azad Kashmir and beyond.
