ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The laptops would be provided free of cost to students of the federal government institutions under the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme, it was announced. A ceremony would be held at a local university where the laptops would be handed out to the eligible students.

This initiative is a part of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program. Its purpose is to equip the students with the technological resources that would help them in the innovative process.

This initiative comes after the program was launched last week in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa area, and laptops were distributed among the University of Haripur’s students.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said the initiative transcends the distribution of laptops. It aims to make these individuals compete internationally so as to allow innovation in the country.

Deng indicated that the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme has already impacted one million students nationwide in previous stages. However, the government stated that the scheme is one of the flagship projects under the Youth Program, which enables students to pursue further education through the use of technology.
