ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): All Pakistan Private Schools Federation has announced that private schools in Punjab, Islamabad, and other affected areas will remain closed tomorrow, Saturday.
The announcement came amid the recent unrest in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and other districts of Punjab due to the scheduled TLP protest and march towards Islamabad.
President All Pakistan Private Schools Federation has said that the decision has been taken to ensure the safety of students, parents, teachers, and school staff.
He said that security measures have become inevitable due to the current situation.
Earlier today, the District Education Authority Lahore said that all public and private schools across the provincial capital have closed early due to the prevailing security situation.
The official notification stated that the decision was taken in view of the city’s security and law and order situation, urging all school administrations to ensure strict compliance with the instructions.
Similarly, in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, several schools and colleges remained closed due to the unusual blockade of major roads.
The schools in the federal capital saw significantly lower attendance than usual as many students were unable to reach educational institutions.
The mobile internet services also remain closed throughout the day, causing much inconvenience to the public.
On the other hand, the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has also postponed the SDO Para exams scheduled for October 11 and 12 in various cities in Punjab, including Lahore.
The Punjab University also postponed its LLB exams that were scheduled to be held today. The university spokesperson said that the new dates for the exams will be announced later.
“The LLB exams set for today have been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. The revised schedule will be issued soon,” the spokesperson said.
