ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Sardar Imtiaz Khan, former Special Assistant to the PM of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), has strongly criticized the recent rally organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Joint Public Action Committee. He believes the event, which featured speeches against former PM Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, was meant to show support for current PM Chaudhry Anwarul Haq.

Sardar Imtiaz Khan spoke bluntly about the Poonch rally. “This was clearly just a political show,” he said about the event run by Shaukat Nawaz Mir and Sardar Omar Nazir Kashmiri in Constituency No. 5. He argued it wasn’t truly about public issues but actually a way to show support for PM Haq.

He went further, saying the Public Action Committee had become Haq’s political supporters. Instead of serving the public, he claimed they were using the group for their political fights.

When talking about Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, Sardar Imtiaz Khan became emotional. “We all remember how he protected our unity during difficult times,” he said, praising Ilyas’s time as PM. He specifically mentioned the important “We Are Pakistan” resolutions that Ilyas supported. These were huge events where countless Kashmiris showed their connection to Pakistan.

Looking ahead, Sardar Imtiaz Khan expressed full confidence in Ilyas’s political future. He vowed that Sardar Tanveer Ilyas would return as Azad Kashmir’s Prime Minister, promising that his comeback would bring modern development and economic independence to the region.

Sardar Imtiaz Khan ended with a strong message about loyalty. He made it clear that Azad Kashmir’s soil would never be used against Pakistan or its institutions. “Our blood, sacrifices, and loyalty have always been with Pakistan and its armed forces,” Sardar Imtiaz Khan stated firmly, adding that this bond would remain unbreakable.

Sardar Imtiaz Khan’s comments reflect the current political situation in Azad Kashmir. His vocal support for Sardar Tanveer Ilyas indicates that the former prime minister still holds political relevance in the region.
