Wafaqi Mohtasib regional head orders better mobile signals

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): In a recent development, the Regional Head of Wafaqi Mohtasib Mansoor Qadir Dar expressed anger over the persistent poor performance of mobile phone companies in Muzaffarabad.

Due to the lack of improvement in the poor service of mobile network companies, the Regional Head Mansoor Qadir Dar held a hearing again on Friday.

According to the details, Regional Commissioner Mansoor Qadir Dar heard complaints of poor service from mobile companies at the regional office of the Wafaqi Mohtasib.

The petitioners of the Center Plate in the Muzaffarabad area took the position that the service has been disrupted again, on which the Regional Head expressed his deep anger at the companies and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) officials.

He said that you people could not improve services in a small area of Azad Kashmir, I want immediate results, raising question on PTA’s performance.

Talking to Kashmir Digital,  Mansoor Qadir Dar said that he has personally visited the Central Plate, along with the teams of prominent mobile phone services including Telenor, Zong and PTCL.

Dar stated that the report compiled at the conclusion of the visit identified unresolved matters and a re-hearing was warranted.

He told the companies they should focus on fiberization to develop better services and advise that the government intends to use the Universal Service Fund (USF) to provide facilities in the areas that do not currently have coverage.

The Ombudsman assured the petitioners that he would not close the matter before they were satisfied and a report was complied and submitted. Dar also said he intends to follow up with the administration in Islamabad to force closure on the matter.
