RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): The Divisional Bar Association Rawalakot organized a special event at a local hotel to honour the traffic police for their effective enforcement of traffic laws, timely action against over-speeding, and efforts to curb drug-related crimes.
The ceremony was presided over by President Divisional Bar Association Poonch, Advocate Sabir Kashmiri, while DSP Traffic Poonch Region, Sardar Akmal Sharif, graced the occasion as chief guest. He was accompanied by District Traffic Inspector Chaudhry Ishaq and other officials.
During the event, particular attention was given to a recent incident involving a vehicle traveling from Rawalpindi to Hajira, where, following a passenger complaint, the traffic police promptly acted against over-speeding and imposed a heavy fine on the driver.
Participants praised this timely action as exemplary in protecting the lives and property of citizens.
Traffic police’s outstanding performance
In recognition of the traffic police’s outstanding performance, efforts to reduce traffic accidents, and steps taken to curb drug-related offenses, the Divisional Bar Association presented honourary shields to the officers.
The stage secretary duties were performed by Secretary-General of the Bar, Advocate Sardar Tariq Ishaq.
Senior members of the Bar in attendance included Advocates Sardar Sarwar, Yasir, Amjad Naseem, Sardar Saeed, Sardar Pervez Ahmed, Sardar Saud Rafiq, Sardar Rizwan, Raees, Hammad Azam, Tayyab, and Ubaid Zubair.
Speakers at the event lauded the traffic police’s services and expressed hope that effective law enforcement and public awareness would further reduce traffic accidents and social ills.
Citizens also praised the district and traffic police for their initiatives and extended their best wishes.
