RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Police have installed 25 modern CCTV cameras in Rawalakot city under the Safe City project.

While talking with Kashmir Digital, SSP Poonch Riaz Mughal said that a Safe City Control Room has been set up in Rawalakot from where the entire city is being monitored.

The project was initiated to keep criminals under surveillance, SSP said.

Moreover, he said that criminals have started adopting new methods across Azad Kashmir, but the police is active in controlling them through modern technology.

SSP Poonch further said that through the Safe City project, the department will keep a record of the on-duty police official and will be able to keep a complete watch on the movement in the city.

Mughal said that work on this project is also being done in other cities of Azad Kashmir to ensure the safety of people’s lives and property.
