RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): The district complex built in Rawalakot at a cost of 21.36 billion with Saudi funding is rapidly deteriorating due to administrative neglect.
The complex lacks security at the Sadar gate which can lead to any mishap in the near future. Although several camera systems have been installed at different locations of the complex but none of them functions properly.
The complex has been under serious neglect and no operation to maintain the real state of the building has been done. Unnecessary grass has covered the luxurious and beautiful lawns of the complex.
Whereas, several open manholes have been reported in the area which can cause any major accident.
The district complex contains 28 buildings including governmental buildings, police stations, residential blocks, library auditorium, mosque, judicial blocks, library buildings, shopping buildings, external works, etc and the total construction covered area is 45,000 m2.
