RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): A family stage drama titled ‘Dukhtar-e-Kashmir’ was staged at Rawalpindi Arts Council on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day.

The drama powerfully highlighted the emotional and human aspects of the atrocities being committed by Indian forces against the Kashmiri people, while also bringing into focus the continuous silence of the United Nations over the long-awaited unresolved Kashmir issue.

Symbolically, the play presented those UN papers and resolutions on which no practical action has been taken during many decades.

The impactful performance deeply moved the audience and was greatly appreciated by all attendees. The chief guest of the event Mushaal Malik, wife of Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, highly praised the effort, message, and presentation of the play and paid tribute to the efforts of the artists.

Pakistan’s support for Kashmiri people

While expressing gratitude to the people of Pakistan for their moral, emotional and political support for Kashmiri brothers and sisters, Mushaal Malik said that the emotional backing of the Pakistani nation serves as a source of courage for the Kashmiri people.

The drama was written by Muhammad Aslam Mughal and directed by Dr. Shaheen Kazmi. Excellent performances were given by artists including Khawaja Saleem, Shehzad Pappu, Seema Jutt, Arshad Khan and others.

The Arts Council reiterated its resolve to continue raising awareness about the Kashmir issue through organizing literary and cultural activities in the future as well.
