Punjab announces public holiday on Saturday

LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Government of Punjab has officially announced a public holiday on Saturday, September 6, across the province to mark the Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).

According to the notification, all government and private offices and administrative departments will remain closed on the day.

The Civil Secretariat of Punjab will also observe the holiday as usual.

The holiday will be marked on 12th Rabi-ul-Awal to observe the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Various religious gatherings will take place across the province.

Earlier, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee on Sunday announced that the moon of Rabi-ul-Awal had not been sighted on August 24, after which they declared that Rabi-ul-Awal will start from August 26.

According to the new moon development, the Eid Milad-un-Nabi will fall on September 06, 2025. With this, Pakistanis will enjoy a two-day break on Saturday and Sunday.
