PESHAWAR (Kashmir English): The Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) have arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worker Sanam Javed in KP’s capital, Peshawar, on Monday night.

Taking on X, PTI spokesperson Sheikh Waqas Akram confirmed that Sanam Javed was “picked up” from a busy road in Peshawar. “Two vehicles blocked her car, forcibly pulled her out of the car, and took her away in front of her accompanying friends,” he wrote.

The political party, in its statement on X, has declared the arrest a “disgraceful act” and intolerable.

It is pertinent to mention that Sanam Javed has been sentenced to five years in the May 9 case.

The arrest came two weeks after her sister and PTI social media activist Falak Javed Khan was arrested by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in a case about the fake videos of Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari.

On October 6, a local court in Lahore approved a four-day physical remand of Javed in two cases, including one linked to an alleged anti-state tweet.
