ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has instructed users to be careful to protect against WhatsApp hacking and cyber fraud.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has warned WhatsApp users that people are trapped in its clutches through social engineering.
“Never share your personal information and the OTP code that comes on your mobile with anyone. After obtaining personal information through various methods, they are used for financial fraud, the authority warned.
The PTA said that OTP is obtained by posing as a courier service representative for WhatsApp hacking.
“Fraud is also done through fake calls of a relative being in police custody.
Users should not transfer money to anyone without verification to avoid financial fraud.”
