RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): The first match of PSL X will start Friday at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium where Islamabad United will defend their title against Lahore Qalandars. PSL X will take place from April 11 to May 18, with Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, and Multan serving as the match venues.
This year’s edition includes 34 matches, featuring three double-headers on April 12, May 1, and May 10. Evening games will begin at 8PM, while the day matches will start at 4PM.
The Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will host 13 matches, including the Qualifier, Eliminator, and the final, on May 18. Rawalpindi will see 11 games, while Karachi and Multan will host five each.
Leading the six franchises are notable players: Babar Azam continues with Peshawar Zalmi, aiming to avoid past mistakes with a strengthened squad. David Warner captains the Karachi Kings, becoming the fourth overseas player to do so.
Mohammad Rizwan stays at the helm of Multan Sultans, while Saud Shakeel takes over Quetta Gladiators. Islamabad United will again be led by Shadab Khan, and Lahore Qalandars will continue under Shaheen Shah Afridi, the only captain to win back-to-back PSL titles.
Last season, Islamabad United clinched their third title, while Multan Sultans finished runners-up for the third time in a row. At the pre-tournament press conference every team captain displayed their enthusiasm for competitive cricket while promising to entertain the fans throughout Pakistan.
PLS X will deliver thrilling matchups thanks to its combination of key players, including Babar Azam and David Warner, and Shadab Khan, plus the strong competition between teams. The tenth edition of PSL guarantees spectacular entertainment to Pakistan’s audiences because both the championship title and important prize fund await the winning team.
The six teams enter this upcoming PSL season with updated rosters and strategic adjustments as they fight for victory in what seems to be a thrilling league competition.
