KARACHI: Karachi Kings pacer Hasan Ali etched his name in the record books, becoming the top wicket-taker in Pakistan Super League (PSL) history with 115 dismissals on Friday.
During the match with Quetta Gladiators at National Stadium in Karachi, Hasan Ali surpassed former Peshawar Zalmi pacer Wahab Riaz’s record for the most wickets in the tournament.
Kings’ ace pacer, who started his PSL career in 2016 as an emerging player for Peshawar Zalmi, achieved this milestone by dismissing Gladiator’s Hasan Nawaz for just one run, securing his 114th PSL wicket.
Earlier on Tuesday, he Champions Trophy 2017 hero, equalled Riaz’s record of most wickets after dismissing four Lahore Qalandars batters at National Bank Stadium.
Notably, the feat is even more remarkable because Hasan achieved the feat in just 83 innings, four fewer than Wahab’s 87 to take 113 wickets in 87 innings.
The 30-year-old pacer has so far shown excellent form in PSL X, with seven wickets in just three matches.
Hasan grabbed only one wicket against their opener match against Multan Sultan with a slightly expensive outing, but he made a strong comeback in his next match against Lahore Qalandars, claiming four wickets for 28 runs.
In the ongoing match against Gladiators, Hasan has dismissed two batters, Hassan Nawaz and Khawaja Nafay.
