BHIMBER (Kashmir English): Bhimber district authorities have banned the display of weapons and the entry of any person with private armed guards at any public events, citing public safety concerns.
District Magistrate Bhimber Mirza Arshad Mehmood Jaral has directed Sub-Divisional Magistrates to enforce the order under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) for two months.
According to the order, “It has been observed that some non-official persons, in the name of security, without permission, participate in various events with armed guards within the limits of Bhimber district, which causes severe fear and panic among the public.”
“Exercising the power, District Magistrate Bhimber instructed that ‘no person/persons shall participate in any event along with armed guards within the limits of Bhimber district nor shall any other person encourage any person to do so,” the order read.
Furthermore, the order stated that if any person was found violating this order, action would be taken against him and the organizers of the event under Section 188 of IPC.
“The Senior Superintendent of Police, District Bhimber, will publish this order through a public notice,” it added.
