MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): In a positive development for the people of Azad Kashmir, the Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council (PNMC) has recognized and allowed the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK) to induct students in Nursing courses.
As per the notification issued on Monday, the PNMC under Section 12 of the Pakistan Nursing Council Act, 1973, recognized the “Bachelor of Science in Nursing-Generic (GBSN) and PRN BSN” educational programme. The varsity has been given 50 seats per session for each course.
The decision was taken during the 15th session meeting of Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council under the Chair of President PNMC, Farzana Zulfiqar, the notification read.
The institute [UAJK] is allowed to admit/induct students into the nursing programs, the notification added.
“The institute is bound to comply with “The Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council Application, Inspection, Recognition, and Accreditation of Educational Institutions Regulations, 2023″, non-compliance with these regulations will lead to the de-recognition.”
