PML-N leader Raja Farooq Haider’s smoking video on live television goes viral

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): A video of former Azad Kashmir Prime Minister and senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Raja Farooq Haider smoking during a press conference on Pakistan Television (PTV) has gone viral on social media.

The incident occurred during a ceremony in Islamabad, where Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan and Saffron Engineer Amir Muqam and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah addressed the attendees.

As per details, the press conference was broadcast live on national television, and the video has been widely shared on social media platforms, including X and Facebook.

In the video, Engineer Amir Muqam was seen addressing the conference, while Raja Farooq Haider, sitting on his left side, can be seen repeatedly smoking a cigarette, sparking controversy and debate. Many users expressed surprise and criticism over his unprofessionalism.

The incident has also raised questions about the broadcasting standards of Pakistan Television and the behavior of public figures.

The meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of PML-N Azad Kashmir President Ghulam Qadir Sahib, where the party leaders and ticket holders from Azad Kashmir were present.

The meeting was attended, Central Senior Vice President of PML-N Azad Kashmir Raja Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas, Secretary General Chaudhry Tariq Farooq, other central office bearers, district presidents and general secretaries, presidents and general secretaries of wings, chairman of boards, and senior party workers in large numbers.
