PMDC revises MDCAT syllabus for 2025

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has published the newsyllabus of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025.

The new syllabus is now officially available on the website of the PMDC. The MDCAT test is likely to be conducted either in the last week of September or the first week of October this year.

The new test will consist of five core subjects: English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Logical Reasoning. The test will include 180 MCQs and will take three hours. Importantly, the test will have no negative marking.

To obtain admission in a medical college, candidates need to be at least 55%, and for dental colleges, a minimum of 50% will be required.

The PMDC formulated the new syllabus after consulting academic experts, examination boards, and universities. The PMDC President said that the new syllabus is being introduced to maintain merit-based admissions and provide more transparency in the selection process.
