PESHAWAR (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned of cold and partly cloudy weather in most districts of upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa in the next few days.
The PMD also expressed the possibility of severe cold in the upper mountainous areas of the province.
Light rain accompanied by snowfall is expected in Chitral (Upper and Lower), Upper Dir, Swat, Shangla, Abbottabad, and Kohistan (Upper and Lower), the PMD said.
PMD forecast
Strong winds and light rain with thunder and lightning, and light snowfall over the mountains is expected in Kolai-Palas, Torghar, Battagram, Mansehra, and Kurram districts.
Similarly, fog is expected in some areas in districts including Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, and Dera Ismail Khan during the night and early morning.
Residents are advised to take precautions against the cold and travel carefully in foggy and hilly areas.
For most parts of the country, the PMD has said that cold and dry weather will persist. However, isolated rain and light snowfall may occur in Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding areas.
