PM Shehbaz, Wang Yi reaffirm commitment to Pak-China partnership

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House to discuss bilateral issues.

The Prime Minister thanked the Chinese government for its support for Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, and senior cabinet members were also present in the meeting.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the leadership of the Chinese President and expressed his eagerness to look forward to his upcoming visit to Beijing and Tianjin.

During the visit, he will attend the SCO Summit and events related to the Second World War.

The Prime Minister said that Pakistan wants to increase cooperation with China in trade, investment, ICT, agriculture, and minerals.

The PM added that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is of key importance for Pakistan’s socio-economic development, as well as its regional connectivity.

The Chinese Foreign Minister said that Pakistan is our iron friend and strategic partner, and China will continue to work with Pakistan for regional peace, development, and stability.

The Chinese Foreign Minister, who is on a visit to Pakistan, also met President Asif Zardari.

President Asif Zardari said that Pakistan and China are time-tested friends and all-weather partners, and CPEC is an important tool for fulfilling the shared vision of Pakistan-China.

The President said that the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations will be celebrated in a dignified manner next year.
