ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will undertake an official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today, accompanied by a high-level delegation. The visit reflects the close and longstanding ties between the two countries.

According to the spokesperson for the Foreign Office, “Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to the United Arab Emirates reflects the deep-rooted brotherly relations between the two countries, based on mutual trust, shared values, and close cooperation in various fields.”

The delegation accompanying the Prime Minister consists of the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, federal ministers and senior officials.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will have significant meetings with the UAE leadership, including a bilateral meeting with the Emirati President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan during his visit.

The Foreign Office spokesperson further stated that the discussions will cover a wide range of issues. “In these meetings, the Prime Minister will discuss bilateral, regional, and global matters with the UAE leadership,” the spokesperson added.

The visit is seen as a significant step in further strengthening the historic ties between Pakistan and the UAE. It also aims to boost economic cooperation and expand collaboration in various sectors.

The spokesperson noted, “Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit is a reflection of the shared commitment to further strengthen the strategic partnership between Pakistan and the UAE and explore opportunities for cooperation in new areas.”

It is worth mentioning that the Prime Minister’s visit to the UAE comes as part of his outreach to friendly nations following recent tensions with India.

Earlier, between May 25 and 30, Shehbaz Sharif visited Turkiye, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Tajikistan, where he thanked allied countries for their support during the Pakistan-India standoff.
