ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister of Pakistan, PM Shehbaz Sharif, has approved the formation of an eight-member Political Coordination Committee to oversee matters related to the upcoming Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections.
According to official sources, PM Shehbaz Sharif has taken this step to ensure smooth political coordination and strategic planning for the polls. The committee includes key figures from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) with deep political experience in AJK.
The members of the committee are: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Engineer Amir Maqam, PM’s Advisor on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah, PML-N AJK President Shah Ghulam Qadir, former AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, Senior Vice President Mushtaq Minhas, General Secretary Chaudhry Tariq Farooq, Vice President Dr. Najib Naqi, and Barrister Iftikhar Gilani.
PM Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the need for effective coordination between the party and local leadership. He has tasked the committee with planning campaign strategies and ensuring unity among party ranks ahead of the elections.
