ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday departed here for a brief official visit to Saudi Arabia, at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The prime minister plans to meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud during his visit to the country. The two leaders will use the meeting to address current regional conflicts together with their respective countries’ diplomatic ties.
Pakistan demonstrates its diplomatic strength through this visit, which the nation will continue to develop in international relations.
Earlier, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Field Marshal Asim Munir discussed the Iranian attack on Saudi Arabia with Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman.
An important meeting was held in Riyadh, where both leaders discussed the latest regional and international situation within the framework of the joint strategic defense agreement signed between the two countries.
In a statement on X, the Saudi Defence Minister stated that “We discussed ways to stop these attacks that do not serve the interests of the region’s security and stability.”
He added that there is hope that the Iranian side will prioritise wisdom and reason and refrain from “misguided calculations”.
According to the sources, the two leaders agreed that Iranian attacks have harmed regional peace, security, and stability.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia hope that Iran will show wisdom and take care of the sovereignty of neighboring countries, they added.
