ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister (PM) Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has congratulated Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on becoming Pakistan’s first Chief of Defence Forces.
Terming the appointment a historic milestone for national security, the PM said that Field Marshal Asim Munir is a symbol of stability for Pakistan and the region.
He said the decision reflects the national leadership’s commitment to strong defence. He expressed the optimism that the country’s defence system would be further strengthened under his able leadership.

Prime Minister Rathore noted that throughout his career, the Field Marshal consistently demonstrated exceptional professionalism, leadership acumen, and prudence. “We are confident that Pakistan’s defence is in strong hands,” he maintained.
The Prime Minister also congratulated Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Babar Sidhu on the extension of his tenure.
Referring to the shooting down of six Indian war planes during the recent war, the Prime Minister said that the Pakistan Air Force demonstrated operational superiority during the war and humiliated India by shooting down half a dozen India jets including a Raphael in a swift and successful operation.
