LAHORE (Kashmir English): With the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) yet to announce resumption and the venue for the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, Pakistan former test cricketer Basit Ali has suggested shifting the event to Bangladesh.

According to sources, discussions are underway regarding the final schedule of the PSL remainder, with May 16-18 being considered as potential dates to resume the event.

They said the PCB and the PSL franchises are on one page that the remaining eight matches, including the crucial play-off round, will be played on home soil.

The PCB is currently in talks with both domestic and foreign players to ensure their participation in the remaining games.

The remaining fixtures include five league matches and three knockout fixtures including the Final.

Meanwhile, Pakistan former Test cricketer Basit Ali has proposed shifting the remaining PSL matches to Bangladesh, citing the country’s passionate cricket fanbase and close ties with Pakistan.

In a post on X, the former middle-order batter said Bangladesh is a “brotherly country” and offers a strong fan turnout, which, he said, would be beneficial for the league’s continuity.

“Instead of Dubai, PSL matches should be held in Bangladesh. People in Bangladesh love cricket, and stadiums are packed during games,” he said, adding that such a move would generate overwhelming public support and revive interest in the tournament.

The suggestion comes amid no-decision regarding the remainder of PSL 10, which was suspended indefinitely due to regional tensions following Indian aggression.

The PCB has not yet made any official announcement regarding the resumption of the league.

However, sources within the board have indicated that franchises have been asked to keep their foreign players stationed in Dubai, while local players have also been told to remain mentally prepared for a potential restart.

It is likely that the PCB asks the players to reach Islamabad, where the PCB is expected to hold a final round of deliberations before deciding the tournament’s fate.
