LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Pakistan men’s cricket team’s all-format tour of Bangladesh is likely to be rescheduled due to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 being staged at home in March/May next year.
The 8-team tournament will be held from 26 March to 3 May 2026. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced that the 11th edition of the marquee league will run from March 26 to May 3.
According to the Future Tour Program, the Green Shirts were scheduled to tour the neighbouring country for a full-fledged series; comprising two ICC World Test Championship (WTC) matches, three One-day Internationals (ODIs) and as many T20Is, in March-April 2026.
Local media quoted a source in the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) as having said that the home series against Pakistan would be transferred to a different window, stressing the number of matches would not be reduced under any circumstances.
“The series will be rescheduled,” said the BCB source adding the two cricket boards are currently in discussion on the subject.
The development comes when the PCB is striving to explore international investors interested in the two new PSL franchises up for sale.
As part of its global outreach strategy aimed at engaging with international investors ahead of the auction, the PCB hosted two roadshows at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London and in New York.
PSL journey
It is pertinent to mention that the PSL, which began in 2016 with five franchises and later expanded to six sides in 2018, is set for further expansion with the addition of two new teams from its upcoming 11th edition, set to be played next year.
