DUBAI (Kashmir English): Noman Ali, Pakistan’s left-arm spinner, has achieved a remarkable milestone, rising four spots to claim the second position in the latest ICC Test Bowling Rankings.

Noman now needs just 29 rating points to dethrone India’s pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who continues to hold the top spot among Test bowlers.

The latest ICC rankings brought a positive news overall for Pakistan’s top cricketers.

Shaheen Shah Afridi moved up three places to 19th among Test bowlers, Mohammad Rizwan made a significant leap, climbing four spots to 16th, while Babar Azam also moved two places up to claim 22nd in the Test batting rankings.

In the global standings, Joe Root of England continues to dominate as the number one Test batsman, maintaining his lead over competitors with consistent form.

On the bowling side, India’s Jasprit Bumrah remains unchallenged at the top, although Noman Ali’s rapid rise poses a serious challenge to him in the near future if his form continues.

ODI and T20 rankings

In the ODI format, India’s Shubman Gill retains his position as the number one batsman, while Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan continues to be top-ranked among ODI bowlers.

In T20 internationals, India’s Rohit Sharma tops the list of T20 batsmen, and Varun Chakravarti leads the T20 bowling rankings, reflecting India’s continued dominance in white-ball cricket.
