ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan condemned the killing of Chinese nationals in Tajikistan and called the terrorist attack a cowardly act.
The Foreign Office termed the terrorist attacks from Afghan soil as extremely worrying and said that the entire international community is concerned about terrorism from Afghan soil.
The use of drones in the attack illustrates the seriousness of the threat.
The Foreign Office spokesperson clarified that there is heartfelt sympathy for Tajikistan, China, and the affected families.
Pakistan fully understands the suffering of the Chinese and Tajik people. Pakistan has also been a victim of terrorism from Afghan soil.
The spokesperson said that terrorist groups continue to be hosted under the auspices of the Afghan Taliban, and practical and verifiable action is necessary against terrorist networks operating from Afghanistan.
The Foreign Office spokesperson clarified that Pakistan will continue to cooperate with China and Tajikistan for regional peace and security.
Earlier, three Chinese nationals were killed in an attack near the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border, according to media reports.
According to foreign media, Tajik authorities confirmed on Thursday that three Chinese nationals were killed in an armed attack near the Afghan border.
Tensions between Tajikistan and the Taliban government in Afghanistan have led to several border clashes in recent months.
The Tajik Foreign Ministry said that in addition to gunfire, a drone equipped with grenades was used in the attack, which targeted workers at a Chinese company in southern Tajikistan.
The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that three Chinese citizens were killed in the attack, carried out using firearms and drones. However, the Tajik government did not reveal the identities of the attackers.
The Tajik Foreign Ministry condemned the attack, saying that criminal elements in Afghanistan continue to try to disrupt peace and stability in the border areas.
The Foreign Ministry called on Afghan authorities to take effective measures to secure the area near the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border.
