LAUDERHILL (Kashmir English): The Pakistan cricket team has officially kicked off its training sessions in Lauderhill, Florida, ahead of a three-match T20I series against the West Indies starting later this week.
The players held their first practice session at Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium, where they focused on fielding drills, net practice, and skills development under the guidance of the coaching staff. The training session lasted around three hours and began with physical warm-ups before moving into game-specific routines.
The Pakistan cricket team will face the West Indies in the first T20I on July 31, followed by two more matches on August 2 and 3, all to be played at the same venue in Florida. These matches are part of the team’s ongoing white-ball tour of the West Indies, which will also include a three-match ODI series in Trinidad and Tobago from August 8 to 12.
Salman Ali Agha will lead the side during the T20Is, while Mohammad Rizwan is expected to take over captaincy for the ODI series. This format-specific leadership strategy is part of the team management’s effort to strengthen adaptability across different formats.
Pakistan’s recent white-ball tour of Bangladesh ended in a 2-1 defeat in a T20I series. The series was head coach Mike Hesson’s second assignment, following a 3-0 whitewash over Bangladesh at home in May.
