DHAKA (KASHMIR ENGLISH): Pakistan and the hosts Bangladesh will play their first match of the three-match T20I series, today (Sunday) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, also called Mirpur Stadium, in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.
Salman Ali Agha will lead Pakistan in the series with Haris Rauf and Shadab Khan missing out the tour.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming series against Bangladesh, scheduled to be held at the Shere-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.
All-rounder Agha will continue as the skipper, while vice-captain Shadab Khan and pacer Haris Rauf will miss the series due to injuries.
Shadab had recently undergone a successful shoulder surgery in the UK to address the ongoing issue with his right shoulder. Rauf had sustained a Grade 1 hamstring injury during the 2025 Major League Cricket (MLC) season while playing for the San Francisco Unicorns against the Texas Super Kings.
In their absence, fast bowler Salman Mirza has been called up to the national squad.
Mirza remained highly impressive during the 2025 HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) season with Lahore Qalandars, taking nine wickets in four matches at an average of 15.00 and an economy rate of 9.64.
The Pakistan squad had arrived in Bangladesh on July 16. The second match will be played on July 22 and the third on July 24.
Both sides last met in May, where Pakistan completed a 3-0 clean sweep in their home series.

Having been at the receiving end of the last series in Pakistan, Bangladesh will be looking to turn the tide in the upcoming fixtures.
All the three games will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
The Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, also called Mirpur Stadium, is an international cricket ground at Mirpur, Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.
Located 10 kilometres from Mirpur city centre, the ground, having a capacity of approximately 25,000 people, is named after the Bengali statesman A. K. Fazlul Huq, who was accorded the title Sher-e-Bangla (“Tiger of Bengal”).
The series serves as a preparation for the two teams with next year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in the sight.
Pakistan are visiting Bangladesh for the first time since December 2021, after undergoing an extensive training camp in Karachi.
Pakistan have won 19 out of 22 T20Is since the first clash between the two sides in September 2007 in Nairobi, suggesting the former’s domination.
