NEELUM VALLEY (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Army has intensified the search operation for the bodies of the martyrs of the Doodh Gai tragedy.

Modern equipment, machinery, and water are being used. Commanding Officer Colonel Aftab, who is an expert in rescue operations, is supervising.

The excavator machine has started digging to search for the bodies from hundreds of feet high glaciers. GOC Murree and Brigadier Kel expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the families of those martyred in the avalanche.

The search operation for the bodies of Lieutenant Colonel Aftab, an expert in rescue operations, was commendable.

According to the details, on February 25, 3 youths from Phalwai were martyred in the glaciers, for which after a week-long operation, it was suspended until Eid-ul-Fitr in view of the severe weather conditions.

On the appeal of the heirs of the martyred youth, the Pakistan Army started the operation for the bodies of the martyrs from April 2.

In the first phase, a cursory search for bodies was carried out within the glaciers, however, it is feared that the bodies may be buried deep inside.

After the glaciers that came at the time of the accident, two to three severe avalanches occurred, due to which it can be said that the bodies will be in the first layer of snow.

For the search operation for the martyrs, which has been going on for the third week, a dozer has been sent to the Dudgai Nala with the cooperation of the Highways Department.

Due to which the dozer machine has started digging the snow for the bodies so that the snow is being melted with water in the long glaciers. Rations and telephone facilities have been provided for the operation.

According to media reports, during the fourth week of February, three youths from Grace Valley were martyred after being hit by glaciers during heavy snowfall. As soon as they started to recover their dead bodies, they had to be suspended due to further snowfall.

However, on April 2, a series of search operations are underway to find the bodies, for which continuous work is being carried out under the supervision of Brigadier Muhammad Imran Cheema of 32 Brigade.

Deputy Commissioner Neelam Nadeem Janjua, SP Khawaja Siddique, Director of DDMA, Directors of State Disaster Management Authority have taken a briefing on the operation. An update has also been given on the operations of the operation.

Commanding Officer Colonel Aftab has assured the families that God willing, the bodies of the martyrs of the Doodh Gayi tragedy will be recovered soon. They were recovered and delivered to the heirs.
