ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Information Minister Maulana Pir Muhammad Mazhar Saeed Shah has paid tribute to the armed forces of Pakistan on the completion of six years of Operation Swift Retreat, saying that the Pakistani forces had taught the enemy a lesson by crushing the Indian war frenzy.
Pakistan forces have made great sacrifices for the security of the country, which the Pakistani nation can never forget. “On 27 February 2019, our Air Force made us proud by responding to India’s aggression in the region.”
The Information Minister said this in a special message on the completion of six years of Operation Swift Retort on February 27.
He said that Pakistan armed forces have proved that their soldiers are always ready for the security of the country.
Pakistan Army has full capacity and ability to counter any kind of aggression for national security.
Pakistan commemorated the 6th anniversary of “Operation Swift Retort” on Thursday to pay tribute to the Armed Forces for their prompt response to Indian escalation.
February 27, 2019 and AJK
Operation Swift Retort was launched in the AJK on February 27, 2019, also known as Surprise Day, to foil an Indian attempt to carry out misadventure on Pakistani soil.
The Pakistan Air Force successfully thwarted a border violation by shooting down two Indian fighter jets. During this operation, an Indian pilot, Abhinandan, was also captured.
Meanwhile, ISPR, the military’s media wing, released a song ‘Dushmana Sun’ on the completion of six years of Operation Swift Retort.
The song expresses a pledge and commitment by the brave sons of the nation to the defense of the motherland.
The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) and the Services Chiefs, also paid tribute to the unwavering courage, professionalism, and sacrifices of Pakistan’s Armed Forces.
“Launched on 27 February 2019, Operation Swift Retort was a resolute and measured response to India’s unwarranted aggression, reaffirming Pakistan’s unyielding commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” ISPR said in a press release.
The operation not only demonstrated the operational excellence and preparedness of Pakistan’s Armed Forces but also underscored their ability to effectively deter aggression and immediately re-establish deterrence while maintaining complete operational dominance throughout the engagement.
