HARARE (Kashmir English): Pakistan U-19 has crushed New Zealand U-19 by eight wickets in their Super Six match (Pak U-19 vs NZ U-19) of the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup 2026, played at the Harare Sports Club on Tuesday.
Sameer Minhas began the Pakistani run chase to get to 111 with 32.5 overs left, and he did so with a composed 76. Pakistan did not have the most ideal start, losing Hamza Zahoor in the third over with only 18 on the board.
Usman Khan, who scored a measured 15 off 24, and his 67-run partnership with Sameer turned the tide in Pakistan’s favor.
Luke Harrison finally broke the partnership, sending Usman Khan back to the pavilion.
Yousaf scored 11 off 9, and Minhas continued to score freely, and the team easily reached the target without losing any more wickets.
New Zealand, who batted first, never really recovered from the initial setback when opener Marco William Alpe was trapped by Ali Raza for 2, leaving the team in tatters at 7-1 in the third over.
Hugo Bogue and Captain Tom Jones added 48 runs to the tally, but the partnership was soon broken by Mohammad Sayyam, who dismissed Bogue for 39 off 27 deliveries.
The match turned further in the next over when Subhan struck, dismissing captain Jones for 15.
The Blackcaps were reduced from 59-2 to 67-7, with Pakistan’s bowlers piling on the pressure.
Subhan was the best bowler, taking 4-11 in 6.3 overs, while Ali Raza supported him with three wickets. Mohammad Sayyam and Momin Qamar took one wicket each.
