ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Secretary General Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Azad Kashmir, Raja Faisal Rathore, has said that the party has not been considering moving a no-confidence motion against the current Anwarul Haq-led government in AJK.
While talking to the media after a meeting of the parliamentary party of PPP AJK in Islamabad, Rathore made clear that there was no agenda under consideration regarding the change of the current government, nor was there any possibility of a change of government.
He said that the meeting was convened today to welcome the newly joined members. Rathore stated that he had joined the government on the advice of the leadership and would separate from the government when the leadership decides.
According to the press release issued, the meeting was held under the chairmanship of Parliamentary Leader Sardar Yaqoob with the special participation of PPP Political Affairs In-charge Azad Kashmir, Chaudhry Riaz.
The press release stated that the meeting strongly opposed the plan of pre-poll rigging by the PML-N and vowed to resist any attempts to influence the upcoming elections.
The meeting also condemned the PML-N president’s statement regarding seats for refugees. “If anyone tries to influence the upcoming elections in Azad Kashmir by making them special assistants or advisors, the PPP will strongly resist it,” the statement read.
As per details, the meeting appreciated the services of Faryal Talpur and Political Advisor Chaudhry Riaz to the PPP.
The party expressed confidence in winning the upcoming elections in Azad Kashmir under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The meeting concluded with a strong message that the PPP will not let anyone compromise the rights of the people in Azad Kashmir.
The meeting was attended by several prominent party members, including former Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, Secretary General Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Mian Abdul Waheed, Sardar Javed Ayub, Chaudhry Qasim Majeed, Sardar Ziaul Qamar, and Nabila Ayub.
Chaudhry Ali Shan Soni, Chaudhry Rafique Nayyar, Ahmed Sagheer Chughtai, Javed Butt, members of Kashmir Council Khawaja Tariq Saeed, and Sardar Adnan Khalid also attended the meeting.
Speaker Legislative Assembly, Chaudhry Latif Akbar, could not attend due to ill health, the statement said, adding that President PPP, Chaudhry Yasin, and MLA Chaudhry Amir Yasin could not attend due to being abroad.
