MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has announced new office hours for government offices.
According to a notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department, the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has approved the new hours, which will come into effect immediately.
According to the new schedule, all government offices will remain open from 08:00 am to 04:00 pm from Monday to Thursday. During this time, there will be a lunch and prayer break from 01:00 pm to 01:30 pm daily.
Special instructions have been issued for Friday, according to which only offices providing essential services will function from 08:00 am to 04:00 pm. On Friday, a break has been fixed for Friday prayers from 12:30 pm to 02:00 pm.
The notification clarified that these new working hours will be implemented as part of the government’s austerity measures and ‘four-day workweek’ policy. This decision has been taken in the context of the current regional and global situation to ensure better utilization of government resources.
