MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Additional Deputy Commissioner Muzaffarabad office has issued the new rates for chicken and other essentials, including vegetables and fruits, for April 12 (Saturday).
According to the notification issued by the Muzaffarabad price controller, the price of live broiler chicken is fixed at Rs. 485 per kilogram.
In addition, breeder chicken meat is priced at Rs. 560 per kilo, while the selling rate of domestic chicken is Rs. 1050 per kg.
Golden chicken has been priced at Rs. 850 per kilogram in the Muzaffarabad district. Prices of eggs per dozen for eggs weighing 40-50 grams have been fixed at Rs. 210 and for those weighing 51-65 grams at Rs. 232.
According to the notification, these rates will come into effect today, April 12, 2025.
Shopkeepers will also have to advertise on a hoarding the rate list, which they will be required to display in a conspicuous place.
They are not allowed to keep more than two broiler chicken meats for sale at a time. The government has particularly highlighted the significance of keeping shops and markets clean.
Prices of Fruits and Vegetables
Additionally, there has also been a slight change in the prices of vegetables. Potatoes are priced at Rs 70, potatoes at Rs 50, Chinese garlic at Rs 560, onions at Rs 70 and tomatoes at Rs 90 per kg.
Other vegetables include cauliflower at Rs 60, bitter gourd at Rs 160, pumpkin at Rs 100, lemon at Rs 290, spinach at Rs 35, radish at Rs 40, carrots at Rs 90, peas at Rs 130 and cucumber at Rs 80 per kg.
Fruit prices have also been revised. White apples are being sold at Rs 270, white gola apples at Rs 160, black apples at Rs 290 and Iranian apples at Rs 440 per kg.
Apart from this, bananas are available at Rs 250 per dozen, quinoa at Rs 370 per dozen, Punjab guava at Rs 190, pomegranate at Rs 610, yellow melon at Rs 150 and strawberries at Rs 210 per kilogram.
