NEPRA announces fixed charges for domestic consumers up to 300 units

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has also imposed fixed charges on domestic consumers who use up to 300 units of electricity every month.

NEPRA has issued a decision on the request of the Power Division regarding fixed charges. Protected and non-protected consumers now face fixed charges, which were previously applicable only to non-protected consumers who used more than 300 units.

Protected consumers who use 100 units per month must pay fixed charges of Rs 200 according to the Nepra decision. Protected domestic consumers who use 200 units of electricity per month face fixed charges of Rs 300.

Non-protected consumers who use up to 100 units face fixed charges of Rs 275. Non-protected consumers who use between 200 and 200 units face fixed charges of Rs 300.

Non-protected consumers who use between 300 and 300 units face fixed charges of Rs 350. The NEPRA decision established new fixed charges, which now require non-protected consumers to pay Rs 400 for their monthly usage of 301 to 400 units.

The fixed charge for non-protected users who consume 401 to 500 units now stands at Rs 500 after a Rs 100 increase. The fixed charge for 600 units, which users consume per month, has risen from Rs 600 to Rs 675.

The fixed charge for 700-unit monthly consumption decreased from Rs 800 to Rs 675. The fixed charge for monthly use of 700 units or more has now been reduced from Rs 1000 to Rs 675. Awais Leghari defends the solar net metering rule.
