ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Jamaat-e-Islami chief Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has announced a nationwide strike against Israeli aggression on April 26, stating that the next course of action will be announced on April 27.
While addressing the Gaza Million March in the federal capital, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said, “Palestinian children have been beheaded while the rulers are asleep, but the nation is awake. We are not afraid of bullets or guns.”
He further stated, “Some people went to Israel from Pakistan and returned with promises. If you side with Israel, everything will be destroyed. If you bow before the United States, all will be lost. This march pays tribute to those who have struggled for Palestine.”
The Jamaat-e-Islami leader said, “Gaza has been reduced to rubble. I urge the rulers to stand up and raise their voices against Israel.”
Despite internal differences, Hafiz Naeem urged unity for the causes of Kashmir and Palestine, emphasizing the need for nationwide strike against Israeli aggression, adding, “Our connection with Palestine is rooted in faith and belief. We want a Hamas office to be opened in Pakistan.”
He referred to the nationwide strike against Israeli aggression as a “Gaza Storm March”, saying Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has acknowledged they are fighting those who “love death”, and that no one can defeat people who embrace martyrdom.
“Dozens of bodies are buried every 48 hours in Palestine. The victory of Gaza is a victory for oppressed people across the world,” he added.
Hafiz Naeem stated that the war in Gaza has divided the world, and that today’s march is a continuation of the Al-Aqsa Storm. He highlighted how Palestinian representatives even raised the Palestinian flag in the California parliament.
He reiterated that a complete nationwide strike against Israeli aggression will take place on April 26, adding, “We do not want conflict with the police. But if we make a declaration, no container can block our way.”
He concluded by warning, “Scholars have issued a fatwa (religious ruling) for jihad. If the rulers do not wake up even after today’s million march, more decisive action will be necessary.”
The people of Azad Jammu and Kashmirs (AJK) have already shown their unwavering support for Palestine by engaging in many rallies and protests, trying to bring international attention to the conflicted zone.
