LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sent a show-cause notice to fast bowler Naseem Shah for violating the central contract, a day after the controversial post was shared from his X account.

As his tweet sparked widespread engagement across social media, Shah clarified in a separate post, saying that this account was recently hacked but has now recovered successfully.

In a statement issued today, the cricket board said that the show-cause notice has been issued under the PCB’s disciplinary framework, and the player has been directed to submit his response within the stipulated time.

“The fast bowler has been served the notice over alleged violations of the central contract, media policy, and regulations,” the board said.

Furthermore, the PCB added that further action will be decided only after receipt and review of his response.

The board stated that professional standards, adherence to contracts, and the integrity of the game will be upheld at all costs.

Sources said that if the allegations are proven, Naseem Shah’s central contract may be in jeopardy, as Naseem Shah is currently in the C category of the PCB’s central contract.

Fast bowler Naseem Shah is part of RawalPINDIZ in the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
