ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has called upon the citizens to collect their CNICs from its offices within the specified period to avoid any inconvenience.

According to the revised policy, the CNICs that are not received by the applicants within a period of three months from the date mentioned for the receipt of the same would stand canceled and deleted forever, thus compelling the applicants to apply afresh along with the payment of prescribed fees.

NADRA facilitated the citizens by asking them to apply through the Pak-ID mobile app or get home delivery of a CNIC to avoid visiting offices.

The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, in related news, along with NADRA, inaugurated a fingerprint confirmation system for passport applications.

The flagship Pak-ID mobile application now allows applicants to verify fingerprints from anywhere and at any time, and permits the utilization of a facial recognition feature in case of failure of fingerprint verification.

The application for a new passport will be made online at the portal; at the fingerprint verification stage, the citizen will log in to the Pak-ID app, select “Online Passport,” and perform the biometric and face verification through the passport tracking ID and CNIC number.
