ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has urged all married citizens to ensure their marital status is correctly registered in government records as soon as possible to avoid disputes from arising in the future.
Local officials at NADRA have recognized that while many citizens have indeed registered their marriages with the Union Council, they have not yet updated the information on the NADRA database.
The authority has encouraged citizens to visit NADRA centers as soon as possible to register their marital status correctly.
This is part of NADRA’s continuing effort to maintain and keep complete records of Pakistani citizens. To facilitate this process, NADRA has put in place an SMS notification service for married citizens to be notified when it is time to update their marital status.
For any additional questions, citizens are encouraged to call NADRA’s help desk at: 1777 (for mobile users) or 051-111-786-100. More detailed information and other services can be found on NADRA’s official website at www.nadra.gov.pk.
