MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): In a landmark achievement for the residents of Muzaffarabad, the Mayor of the Municipal Corporation sent a notice to the construction company to vacate the Neelum Park area, which has been occupied for three years.

According to the details, the Mayor Municipal Corporation Muzaffarabad has issued a final notice to the ZK company to vacate the Neelum Park area. Earlier, the company had been moved on March 13 but no response was received from them.

Initially, the company was allowed to establish a crash plant temporarily and did not vacate the land even after its use was over, which was approximately sixmonths after the construction of the Shah Sultan Bridge and Makri Treatment Plant.

When the Municipal Corporation permitted a contractor to construct a Ramadan Bazaar on the site with no agreement for doing so, the occupation of Neelum Park sparked protests.

Surprisingly, this land was given without any agreement, which the public protested vigorously, so political leaders also supported it. Now a campaign has been launched to vacate the entire 100-kanal land of the park.

Hopefully, the occupation of the park will end after Eid and the park will be constructed, which will provide people with recreation opportunities.
