KARACHI (Kashmir English): The governor of Sindh, Kamran Tessori, declared that motorcycle riders will receive free petrol until Eid because of the severe increase in petroleum prices.

Kamran Tessori announced that motorcycle riders will receive 3 liters of free petrol until Eid. He explained that he might visit any petrol pump tomorrow or the day after to personally supervise petrol filling for riders at the pump.

He wants to give this as an Eid gift to people who currently lack the ability to pay for petrol, which costs a thousand rupees because of inflation. He added, “The region is in a state of war; pray that peace is restored.”

He explained that war pay for petrol and essential goods will increase while they must implement Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s austerity plan.

The governor stated that all Iftar events at the Governor’s House during Ramadan’s last ten days will not take place, yet the public Iftar program will proceed as planned. He also stated that he has canceled all his personal Iftar commitments as a guest.

Earlier, the Sindh government announced the distribution of free pink electric scooters to women in the coming weeks.

The announcement to this effect corresponds to International Women’s Day. The officials have termed the decision a revolutionary step toward women’s empowerment.

Senior Provincial Minister for Information and Transport, Sharjeel Inam Memon, while sharing details of the project, stated that the initiative is part of a mission to provide women with safe, protected, and environmentally-friendly transport.

Under the program, selected women will receive modern electric scooters designed to save energy and reduce environmental pollution.

The government will also provide formal driving training and road safety awareness sessions for all recipients to ensure users’ safety.

The “Pink Electric Scooter Program” will play a vital role in empowering women by providing them with easy transportation.
